The nights are getting longer, the weather is getting colder, the shops are getting busier, and just like that December is in sight.
CHRISTMAS IS COMING.
*Sings* It’s the most wonderful time of the year
I’m an avid Christmas fan. I just love everything about it.
Part of what I love about Christmas is the build up, when everyone seems a little bit jollier. Whether it’s the thought of the upcoming break from work or the fact it’s acceptable to eat chocolate for breakfast everyday for a month, there’s something for everyone to look forward to.
Honestly I could write a four page blog post about everything I love about Christmas, but that’s not what I’m here for.
I want to talk about a very specific part of Christmas which a lot of us have had some experience with at one point or another.
Some families chose to do secret Santa instead of buying everyone presents, which I think is a lovely idea, but i’d miss finding gifts for each person individually.
Then there’s secret Santa in friendship groups, which is always fun and often excuse for a jolly Christmas get together. In friendship groups it works pretty well because you’re likely to know everyone, at least to some extent. So at the very least you know what NOT to get them. But what about those secret Santas where you’re in the position where you don’t necessarily know everyone too well. Maybe in your office?
I’ve got two secret Santas on the go at the moment, so whilst I was browsing for ideas, I put together this little gift guide.
A collection of ideas for when really, you have absolutely no idea what to choose.
If you work in an office, chances are days will be fuelled with endless cups of tea or coffee. It’s just how we get through the day. I’ve found these gorgeous star sign mugs from New Look which I absolutely adore. Now I really want one for myself.
They’re on sale for £3.74 – A M A Z I N G. Obviously it would be beneficial to know their birthday (if not – take a wild guess!?) and it would help if they actually drank tea or coffee, but that’s easy enough to find out.
If you’re anything like me you’ll like to make your space at work your own. I have a little flower on my desk and a bright Rainbow coaster from my lovely friend Laura. I know a lot of people like having a bit of nature on their desks so why not help them snazz it up a bit with this chic embossed leaf print plant pot?
£5 from ASOS who also happen to have a brilliant Gift Guide.
If you’re wanting to go full on Christmas mode, and honestly I don’t see why you wouldn’t, Lush have some gorgeous festive bits. And to make things even easier, they have a secret Santa section on their website. Everyone deserves some pamper time, and how sweet is this snowman bath bomb … SO CUTE! The perfect Christmas eve companion.
I like personalised gifts. I know sometimes they can be a bit tacky, but I think it’s nice for someone to know you’ve put that extra special touch on their present.
Not on the high street is somewhere I go for gift inspiration a lot, and I think these personalised coasters would be perfect for someone to use in their office. A special place to put the essential morning coffee.
Anyone else love getting new stationary? There’s something so satisfying about writing on the first page of a new notebook. I know a lot of people stay organised online these days, but I’m a very visual person and still like to see everything written down.
As the new year is just around the corner, give someone a fresh start in the form of a beautiful new 2018 diary. Paperchase have so many lovely gift ideas, but this one especially caught my eye.
And it’s just below the budget … YAY.
The body shop also have a secret Santa section on their website. I had no idea shops were doing this until this year, but i’m loving it. If you’re feeling lost for inspiration it’s definitely the place to look.
I’ve got this mango hand cream and oh my god it smells incredible. Its such good quality moisturiser and really takes care of your hands, especially in winter. A nice little all in one gift.
The link to all the gifts are at the bottom of the page, and just so you know i’ve borrowed all these photos from the product pages of the websites.
Good luck secret Santas!
