Dressing a little more smart than casual: What I picked up in the ASOS sale (UNDER £30)

January 11, 2018

Hands up if ASOS is already your most visited page of 2018? (Hey there!)

I have to admit, most of the time I can’t be bothered with sales. I just don’t enjoy flicking through the muddled racks in a shop, trying to find something vaguely OK then realising it’s only in a size 4.

I mean i’m not saying I never indulge, if i’m out in town I may have a little browse through – this year I did in fact find an absolutely gorgeous coat from New Look for only £25 … what a gem.

The ASOS sale is a bit of a dream for me, I can just sit tight on my sofa in my mermaid blanket searching through pages of filtered results. That’s the kinda sale I can get on board with.

Working in an office where the dress code is pretty casual is great, I get to wear what’s comfortable which helps me focus and feel relaxed. Once a week or so though, we’re out of the office with a client or at a meeting, so I get to dress a little smarter. And you know what, I actually enjoy mixing it up a bit and getting fancy.

That is when I can actually decide what to wear … it usually turns into one of those floordrobe mornings. So this year I decided to turn to ASOS to spruce up my smart wear.

Miss Selfridge Gingham Embroidered Shirt – £12.50

What I like about these shirts is the fact that they’re smart, without being completely boring. And brands seem to be doing a lot more of that, providing us with work wear that doesn’t make us feel like we’re in a school uniform.

Also, i’m obsessed with this floral style embroidery at the moment, you may have noticed. It’s just so beautiful!

This year i’m determined to be more daring with my fashion. I’m always envious of my gorgeous friend Laura who seems to look incredible in anything she puts on. She has some fashion posts on her blog, so take a look if you’re in need of a little inspo.

So there we have it, the two items i’ll most likely be outfit repeating for every meeting I have in 2018.

Actually I did find one extra bargain from New Look, so that’s three in the bag. Head over to my Instagram to see my new favourite £10 shirt.

Who do you get your style inspiration from? Let me know!
