Life update: Turning 24 and other stuff

June 3, 2018

As you may or (hopefully) may not have noticed, I haven’t been publishing as many blogs as usual recently.

The schedule I try my best to stick to is to publish three times a week on a Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. However it’s highly likely that most weeks it slips down to two posts a week whenever I get them finished.

With a full time job, volunteering, and generally having plans it can be really hard to find the time to dedicate to writing, and I never want to force it.

So I publish when I can, and try not to put too much pressure on myself.

May has been a V V busy month.

Absolutely fabulous, but full on non stop…which I have seriously loved.

I thought since things have been a little quiet over here on the old blog, i’d give you a little life update and let you know what i’ve been up to.

My immune system decided to be the ultimate pain in the ass for a couple of weeks, so in the middle of May I had the most disgusting summer cold.

The kinda cold that makes your head feel like it’s being clamped as well as being completely deaf for a good week.

Whilst I was ill, any free time I had was spent curled up on the sofa surrounded by tissues and tea.

Whereas usually i’d spend my evenings writing, all I could do was focus on trying to breathe through my nose.

May is my favourite month of the year by far, and it always has been.

My brother and I both have our birthdays in May, so ever since I was young it’s been a super fun month.

Then I met Chris, and BAM – another May birthday.

So as you can imagine this month has been FULL of celebrations.

For my brothers birthday we had a fab one night stay in Newcastle. We ate, we drank, we saw friends, the sun came out (yes I know, the sun in the north?!) it was lovely.

For Chris’ birthday we had a delish meal at Las Iguanas with his fam, some cocktails, a few Burritos, it was a really lovely evening.

I also decorated the kitchen for him when he woke up because i’m cute…

FYI these balloons are amazing. £2 from Tiger and you can inflate them yourself! They say Happy Birthday in case you couldn’t see and they also come in pink!

For my birthday, my parents and Chris teamed up to plan the cutest evening.

I had no idea where we were going, so when we arrived at Nando’s I was very happy, but even happier to see my parents there too. We don’t often go to Nandos. Chris likes it but doesn’t think it’s anything special…I know right?! So this was a lovely thought of his – he knows how much I love it.

The evening continued and we went to see a live performance of a west end musical, An American In Paris which was being shown at the cinema. It was FAB. Full of amazing sets, music and ballet. Such a lovely evening.

As Chris and I both have birthdays in May, and our anniversary is at the beginning of June I wanted to plan something a little special.

Last year we went to the Quay Mill Spa for a night which was glorious!

This year, i’ve planned a little one night city break in London! We’re going to be propper tourists. Although i’m in london quite a bit seeing family and friends, I don’t often get the chance to actually see the sights so it’s going to be super fun.

(By the time i’ve published this post I will have already been, so you might already know what we got up to!)

You can see all the updates from London (also in my ‘birthday’ highlight) on my Instagram here!

Another reason things have been a bit quiet on the blog is work. It’s going so well but it’s keeping me extremely busy.

In case you don’t know I work a 9-5 in a Social Media Agency. We have a range of clients and I help manage their social channels.

It’s a lot of fun and I love the variety day to day.

All things going very well there, so i’ll keep you posted.

So obviously as i’ve mentioned (probably one too many times now), things have been quieter in terms of blogging.

I’m still posting daily on Instagram which I love, but I have to say follower growth is getting slower. With less time to engage with new accounts i’m finding it harder to be discovered.

Either that or my content isn’t as strong, but personally i’m loving it!

Instagram is still my favourite platform. I absolutely love taking and editing my photos, and whilst there’s nothing like sitting down to write a blog, Instagram is something I know I can keep up with.

My blog views are staying consistent, and the posts I do write i’m enjoying. So I guess that’s really all that matters!

I’ve got a couple of blog events coming up which i’ll be chatting about soon, and a couple of product collaborations which i’m super excited about.

My blog has also had a complete makeover, which i’m SO excited about! I’ve wanted to sort it for so long, but finding the time and knowing how to actually go about it has been a challenge.

I’m also going to be hosting my very first Instagram giveaway, so keep your eyes peeled!

I think that’s about all I have to update you on now! The flat is gorgeous as ever, Chris is lovely, and things are all plodding along smoothly.

I realise this has been a weird little whistle stop tour of my life, but I thought it would be nice to share a little update post – i’ve never done one like this before but always love reading them

What have you been up to recently? Let me know!

  1. I get what you mean about having time to do all you set out for yourself. I am trying not to overcommit – even if it’s only to myself. Thanks for a glimpse into your world 😊

Great post! I can’t believe you post so frequently – good for you! That’s amazing!

I would love to get there eventually – but I find posting once a week is a lot to keep up with already – full time jobs & life in general, can get very busy and unfortunately the blog tends to suffer sometimes. But, as long as you enjoy what your writing about, that’s all that really matters.

Hope you had an awesome birthday!

I know it gets so hard to stick to a strict schedule doesn’t it? To be honest I haven’t managed to post as frequently at the moment, but my goal is just to stick to at least once a week! Thank you lovely!
